It seems that recording yourself while playing a game has become a continuing trend among mobile gamers. It started out with someone filming the gamer, complete with reactions (hopefully unscripted), commentary and all. And then apps that are specific to this purpose came along, bringing a bit of sophistication to the recording. Then OEMs started making built-in apps for game recording, including the newer models of Samsung. Now their Game Recorder+ has been updated to include more devices and optimized performance as well.

With the latest update, the Galaxy app now also is compatible with the Galaxy S6 Active, the Galaxy S5 Active, the Galaxy Note Edge, and the Galaxy Note 3 Neo. And if your Galaxy S6 and the slightly older Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 are already running Android 5.1, then Game Recorder+ will also now work on them. However, it also depends on your location and/or carrier whether or not your device will already be updated.

The app’s changelog also says that it is now “optimized” for the flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. They will probably be releasing another update, as new Samsung devices will be announced on August 13; the Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6 edge Plus, and another “mystery” device which will probably be a new tablet. But there’s also a possibility that the Game Recorder has already been included with the latest update on the newer device.

If you have any of the new compatible devices mentioned, and you’d like to have a recording of your gaming adventures, you can get Game Recorder+ for free from the Google Play Store. If you already have it, you can also update it through GPS.
