Samsung may not have confirmed yet that this particular new smartphone is coming, but when it shows up in the GFXBench database last month, and now the TENAA certification, then you know that something will be happening soon. For now, let’s just call it the Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 or SM-W2016 and see how much of the rumors and leaks will be true when the smartphone gets released soon.
Just like the two previous versions, the Galaxy Golden 3 seems to be another classic flip phone, and if you miss that kind of device, then your interest level might have spiked. The listing shows a 3.9-inch inch internal and external display of 768 x 1280 pixel resolution (although GFXBench puts it at 4.6-inches. It will run on an octa-core 2.1 GHz processor, and as per GFXBench again, it will have the Exynos 7 SoC and Mali-T760MP8 GPU, considered a high-end chipset.
It will have 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, non-expandable though, as Samsung’s new smartphones seem to be lately. Camera-wise, it has a 16MP main camera and a 5MP front-facing one. It weighs 204g and measures 120.4 × 61 × 15.1mm. It will come with Lollipop 5.1.1 out of the box.
However, despite showing up in GFXBench and TENAA, the Galaxy Golden 3 might actually not happen. That’s what happened, or rather didn’t happen, with the SM-W2015, also certified by TENAA but was never actually released. So let’s see if the Galaxy Golden 3 will actually materialize and wait for an official announcement from Samsung.
