The sweet Android 5.0 Lollipop was released for the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Canada through different carriers but sadly, they had to cancel the rollout due to some bugs and issues that need to be fixed first. That’s a bit frustrating but that’s better than no update to Android 5.0 at all. At least these Canadians know Android Lollipop will be available in the country soon. Minor issues include force closures, screen freezes, and excessive battery drain.
Kodoo and Bell aready informed their subscribers that the update was available for download but they had to take it back like Rogers. The firmware quickly rolled out over-the-air but must be stopped for a while. Apparently, a Rogers Galaxy S5 user owner experienced a reboot loop problem on his unit after the Android 5.0 software update.
The person reported the issue to Rogers and company was good enough to send a replacement. However, when he tried to download and update the mobile OS again, he couldn’t find the latest version because it was already removed by Rogers. The result? No Android 5.0 Lollipop yet again for Rogers. No information when the official software update will be released again but we’ll let you know soon.
Atleast they acknowledged it. In India for the Galaxy S4 its still rolling out with bugs causing force closes of contacts and splanner apps.
I got for nexus 5 and full of bugs…was there any QA
im on Rogers and i have 5.0 works fine .
I want a update
I have a Samsung Galaxy Alpha
Tears of joy and sadness
Samsung Galaxy Alpha is boss but no update
I’m on Verizon and the 5.0 update caused massive battery drain. Even with no apps installed, my battery would go dead in 4 hours. I downgraded to 4.4 and I get a day and a half with moderate use and all apps installed.
