Ever wish your smartphone could teach you to play the guitar? Well, we thought you’d never ask. “Riff Maestro” is an app from IK Multimedia – makers of the famed iRig interface for guitars and mobile devices. Now they’re back with an app that will teach you to play any song in your device’s library. Of course, you still have to study it, but learning just became heck easier.
Riff Maestro allows you to any song from your music library, and then you can start jamming to it in minutes. Riff Maestro works to analyze the structure and nature of the song to help aspiring guitarists to learn the parts. You can slow down your song so that you can listen to the structure at your own pace.
If you need help for chords, there’s also a paid in-app purchase – a chord detection tool – for those who are not so good at recognizing keys and chords. The tool automatically detects and displays chords as they happen – within your selected song – which is very cool indeed. The chords display in chord box diagrams or large labels.
Looking at how this app works, it looks like this could be very essential to those learning their guitar craft. Download it via the link below, free, with in-app purchases.
