Most people probably don’t pay much attention to the choosing of wallpapers on their Android devices. More often than not, they just choose photos of loved ones, or even just low-res photos of something that they like at that moment. But if you’re one of those who believe that they should be carefully considered and that hi-res images are the only ones that will do, then you either download an app that does that for you or you yourself painstakingly searches for such images.

If you don’t want to add another app to your device, then the latter is your choice. But if you don’t have time, some people have already done it for you, like reddit user “Honsou” who just shared his beautiful collection of wallpapers that he put together from various sources like Flickr, the European Southern Observatory website and the Hubble Space Telescope website. But what he has done is actually bring them to you as high resolution images so there will be no stretched or pixilated pictures on your device.

There are 144 images in this new collection (he has previously published others of course) and they have been divided into seven categories: AMOLED (mostly black and white images), Astronomy, Astro Landscapes, Landscapes, Nature, Space Exploration, and Urban. You can view them first as low-res images in Imgur albums, and then download the actual Hi-Res files that are in ZIP folders.

Why would you “waste” time and device space for these wallpapers? Well having a really nice home screen can sometimes make you feel like you have a brand new device. Or maybe you just like having something pretty to look at on your screen. Either way, thank you Honsou!
