The Ascend Mate is perhaps Huawei’s most successful line. We’ve seen several Huawei Ascend Mate models since 2013 when the series was first introduced. The last flagship from the company was the Ascend Mate 7 which was rumored to have another variant, the Ascend Mate 7 Mini.
Spotted at a Chinese website where some spy shots of what is believed to be the Huawei Ascend 8 complete with a rimless 2k camera screen and an impressive 20.7 megapixel camera. The next-gen phablet from the Chinese manufacturer is believed to have a 6-inch screen, 1440 x 2560 resolution, 3GB RAM, an unknown Kirin processor, and for the selfie addicts, possibly a 16 to 20 megapixel rear-facing OIS camera. Others are even saying this could be the best phone-tablet to be introduced this year.
Huawei Ascend Mate 7 has been successful in China and the company is set to work on a better follow up to the model. What’s currently making the Ascend Mate 7 a success is the fact that it has powerful specs and with very reasonable prices. The Ascend Mate 7 was only made available in China but we’re hoping the Ascend Mate 8 will be out in several markets all over the world.
Some spy shots have been sighted on a microblogging site, giving us an idea that the next Huawei flagship phone will have a narrow frame, a one-piece metal body, and a borderless design. Rumor has it that the phone will be equipped with some Kirin 930 processor, a 2K screen, 20.7 million pixel Sony IMX220 sensor, and fingerprint recognition technology. We hope to hear more about this flagship device from either Google or Huawei.
