With cars getting smarter and more hi-tech, we might start wanting to spend more time inside the vehicle and on the road than ever before. But being on the go also has its disadvantages, like air that becomes dirty and gadgets that lose power. Now you can try to kill two birds with one stone, er, accessory. The AIR Ionic Car Air Purifier and Charger not only keeps your lungs healthy, it also keeps your mobile devices happy, all at the same time.

Most air purifying devices were designed to be used on flat surfaces inside non-moving spaces. But who says only living rooms need to have clean air? Given how exposed they are to outside air, car cabins are, in fact, also in dire need of some purification.

The AIR car air purifier takes care of that and removes smoke, fumes, dust, and even odors. It works its magic by generating 1.3 million negative ions per cc. To prove that, the demo below simulates the presence of gas and smoke in an enclosed space. It only takes 3 minutes for the AIR to clear out the, well, air.

And, of course, it doubles as a device charger for up to two USB powered devices. It outputs 1 A for smartphones and 2 A for tablets. And you won’t need any special car attachment for this. The 12 V cigarette lighter on your car is more than enough.

The AIR Ionic Car Air Purifier and Charger normally costs $50 but is now 28% off, for only $35.99.

  1. I’d like to see that test run again with a car full of smoke. Somehow I doubt that the air intake on that little plug in would have any effect on anything except the air in its immediate vicinity. Also, why bother doing the compare test against a standard charger? That’s like if you’re selling knives, and for a side by side test you use a piece of wood with no blade.
