There are times when the only way to settle disputes is with your fist. But wait, we’re talking about video games here right? (We do not condone real-life violence, pinky swear). Fist Puncher is exactly what its name says it is: a mobile game where you get to put your fists through 2D, retro people’s faces as you try to mount the rescue of kidnapped beauty contestants. It’s not the most politically correct or progressive game in the market, but sometimes, people just need to punch something or someone.

You were so looking forward to watching who will win the Miss Fist Puncher contest, when word got out that the head of the most notorious criminal enterprise in town, someone called Milkman, decided he wanted those contestants for himself. Now your goal is to punch your way to the thugs that kidnapped them in this all-out 2D brawler. The game has over 19 playable characters like Dr. Karate, Steroid Jackson, Hella Fistgerald, etc. You will be able to choose the attributes for your characters and then train them to hone their .

The game also features over 50 levels where you can punch out people in various locations like an alleyway, on the rooftops, a bar, or somewhere more “exotic” like an ostrich farm or yes, even a nudist beach, where the people let everything hang out. There are over 100 collectible items to help you along the way and around 99 unlockable achievement trading cards as well.

If you feel like using an external controller to play the game, it is compatible with NVIDIA SHIELD devices. You can download Fist Puncher from the Google Play Store for $9.99. It’s a pretty steep price for a 2D brawler game, but everything is already there and there are no more in-app purchases, so it should be worth it, if you’re a fan of these type of games.

  1. Street fighter, double dragon, Mortal Kombat all rolled into 8-bit glory. Wow! I’d say it’s worth the $9.99 price tag. I mean, no IAPS, etc. I have NO issue paying that price for a game like this. IAPs suck.

    • Not sure if the “ninjas on trailer” glimpse was a reference to Double Dragons or Bad Dudes VS dragon Ninja.

Also, the overall graphics style is perhaps a straight homage to River City Ransom.
