To all of you out there still holding on to memories of your once current-gen portable console, the iconic Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP), we’re willing to bet more than half of you have the PPSSPP emulator app installed on your Android device. This is probably the most popular PSP emulator around on Android, and it’s good that developers are not resting on their laurels and are putting out some updates.
The PPSSPP app will now be updated to version 1.1, and up front, you’ll probably be happy to know that it is getting NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV console support. What does that mean? In my head, it means, you’ll be able to install the app on your Android TV and play your games from there, on the big screen and with real gaming controllers. That’s pretty rad, now that we think about it.
Among other feature updates, we have ARM64 support for newer smartphones and their chipsets, screen rotation and other various graphical tweaks, better texture scaling performance, a new savedata management UI, along with lots of smaller performance improvements.
If you’re interested in going down (recent) memory lane for those PSP games, but you’ve already sold/disposed/destroyed your PSP console, take heart! You can download the PPSSPP app via the download link below.

This update still slows down when I’m in the world map for Final Fantasy II. Until that is fixed, then I’ll be satisfied.
