Today was a big day for Pokemon fans – directly for the ones living in Japan, and indirectly for those around the world trying to get excited and pumped up for Nintendo and Niantic’s upcoming “Pokemon GO” mobile game. A lot of people have signed up to be beta testers for the testing that is now taking place in Nintendo’s home market in Japan, and today Niantic has announced that it was emailing invites to the lucky ones picked to do testing.
Just after the announcement, screenshots of the download screen and splash page of Pokemon GO filled the intarwebs. This happened even with the warnings of confidentiality that the testers had to confirm. The developers also mad a way to mark screenshots of confidential content with markings of “CONFIDENTIAL == DO NOT LEAK.” We assume that those who leaked these images have had their access and test accounts revoked.
There are some images without this identifier, so we’re sharing those with you. The game – according to the information in the Play Store – seems to confirm that it will be played with augmented reality (AR) elements, and that you can catch Pokemons the same way as universally known – with Pokeballs.
We expect more images, and even videos, to leak out soon as this beta test progresses. We’re pretty excited with what this game will bring. How about you guys?
