By now, it’s already a foregone conclusion that Nintendo and Niantic’s Pokémon GO is set to break all kinds of records, both good and bad. And the scary part is that it’s only been one month since its official release and is still not available in some markets like China, India, and South Korea. So we probably haven’t seen its full power just yet, and already some of us are sick of it and some of us are still obsessed with it.

Stats from SensorTower show that the game has already surpassed the $200 million worldwide revenue. To put that into perspective, they compared it with two other hugely popular games, Candy Crush Soda Saga released in 2014 and Clash Royale, released this year as well. They analyzed the first 30 days of all three games and how the growth in terms of revenue measured up against each other, and obviously, Pokémon’s growth in terms of revenue (we’re not even talking about app downloads here) is pretty remarkable.

Clash Royale was the fastest mobile app to reach 10 million downloads and in its first month of existence, it generated a lot of revenue for its developers. But now comparing it to Pokémon GO in the same period it was available still shows how much it has out-earned Clash Royale. Candy Crush Soda Saga meanwhile is still one of the top grossing apps of all time, and yet Pokémon GO has gotten seven times more revenue in its first month.

There have been some issues, server problems, disabling of third-party apps, and a lot of frustration over the slow rollout. But despite these things, people continue to play it endlessly and post about it as often as they can. We haven’t reached saturation point yet, so expect more records, download-wise and revenue wise, to be broken.
