Pokemon GO is finally available in India. Five months after the augmented reality was launched in the United States and other key markets, the game is ready in India beginning today. Niantic Labs has teamed up with Reliance Jio to bring the game to the country so the Indians can finally enjoy and see for themselves what the craze is all about.

The game’s launch in the country turns those Reliance Digital Stores and partners in the country into new PokéStops or Pokémon Gyms. This is good news to those who’ve been waiting to start walking around the neighborhood to catch those little monsters. What’s more impressive is that India is getting the latest version which means all the previous updates and new features released are already included.

Niantic’s partnership with Jio promises reliable mobile Internet connection, thanks to the carrier’s high speed 4G LTE Network. Finally, the Indians can become Pokemon trainers. It may be five months late but we know geeks and gamers are grateful for the good news.

With this launch, Reliance Jio is expecting to see the number of subscribers go up. The company will start offering a new promo which includes free data, roaming, and voice calling until March next year. The game has already hit 500 million downloads worldwide and we know more will be added to the number especially now that it’s available in India.
