If you’re not familiar with PlayStation Vue yet, this is Sony’s TV service that you can use if you own a PlayStation 4 console. The price for using the service is USD$50.00 per month, and it uses the internet to stream live TV channels without you having to pay for long-term contracts. It’s actually pretty nifty.
At the end of June this year, PlayStation Vue debuted on Android, giving users another platform to use the service on aside from their PS4 consoles. Now Sony is announcing another new platform for the service – on Android TV – with a promise of adding new platforms soon. Users of Android TV platforms – as long as it’s Android version 4.4 or better – can now install the PlayStation Vue app.
The service will allow you access to up to over a hundred TV channels, including live cable ones, sports channels, entertainment channels, and more if you pay the maximum USD$75.00 per month. You can get fewer channels for lower-priced plans, which start at around USD$30.00 per month.
Sony also announced that apart from Android and Android TV, there will be support for PC and Mac operating systems soon. That should extend the reach of the service more and more, and we can expect this to happen soon.
