After the official announcement of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last March, we expected that Samsung would be introducing an Active version of the smartphone just like the previous year. The first and only hint we have so far is that Galaxy S7 Active reference at a changelog of Samsung Level app a few months ago.
The rugged version of the Galaxy S7 is expected to offer military grade protection which means worry-free everyday use. There’s also the danger of drops, bumps, and splashes of water. The Active variant is for not just for the active or sporty people or guys always in the field or construction site. The Galaxy S7 Active is also perfect for the klutz —umm, careless people like me.
The Galaxy S6 Active was launched June last year so we can expect that the S7 Active will be announced this Summer. Before the S6 Active was announced, rumors, and early photos surfaced. This year, there seems to be no leaks until today when images of an Active phone wrapped with a rugged-looking polycarbonate case surfaced.
Instead of a the full-metal body, the Galaxy S7 Active has a new polycarbonate case with rubber bumper on sides. As for what’s inside, specs of the Galaxy S7 Active is said to have the same features as the standard S7–that’s with 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 420, and water-resistant quality.
We like the digital camo design on the back but we’re expecting other designs will also be available and shown off at launch.
