We lost track of how many smaller companies Google has acquired this 2015 but before the year ends, another one is added to the long list. A photo and video editing startup will soon be joining the tech giant to work on Google Photos. The latter is the official, native app of the search company that serves as cloud storage for all photos. As for Fly Labs, it’s an editing app that provides creative control over media files to the users.
Fly Labs has been updated over three millions times all over the world according to the developer. It’s only less than two years since it was launched on the Google Play Store. Its acquisition by Google will have them bringing their technology to Google Photos to make the latter even better and more attractive to people.
Fly Labs’ other apps are now free and will be available in the App Store for the next three months. They will be removed from the App Store soon and sorry, the apps on your phone will no lover be updated. The Fly Labs team has always wanted to bring their useful editing apps to more people and expand. This Google Photos project is simply a continuation of the developer’s mission to improve technology. Fly Labs said they will be working on this the same way they worked on other apps.
