We haven’t heard much about the Moto E but a recent rumor gives us an idea that the 2nd-generation might be coming soon. It’s another budget smartphone alright because the Moto E was popular in the cheap phone category with its sub-$150 price tag. And now that Motorola is owned by Lenovo, there’s more reason for the mobile group to work harder than before.
Motorola still has a lot to prove and the next Moto E could be another winner. We’re not sure if it’s really the Moto E but it’s definitely not a Moto G. This looks smaller with the lack of a speaker grille in front. It doesn’t have a camera flash either so it can still be priced cheaper. However, we now see there’s a front-facing camera.
This mystery phone could run an Android 5.0 Lollipop, or at least Android 4.4 KitKat, based on the navigation buttons but an old messaging app icon is there. Well, it could just be a design mistake (or perhaps this is a fan render?). We’re not expecting an LTE connectivity from this phone but we think this would be a better Moto E obviously.
We hope to see this rumored Moto E at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this March.

The lack of the front facing camera on the 1st gen is what stopped a lot of people from going with it. The Moto G was/is a better flavor for prepaid (Verizon) or cheap GSM.
