A few weeks ago, live video streaming site Periscope introduced a beta feature that would let users save the videos that they stream so that other people would be able to view them later. The only problem was that you needed to add #Save if you wanted it to be, well, saved. But now, with the latest update to the app, all live videos will automatically be saved, together with the likes and comments that were made during your initial broadcast.
Periscope initially enjoyed dominance in the small market of live video streaming, as the Twitter-owned company and Meerkat were the only players in the market. But when Facebook Live came into the picture, then everyone else had to step up their game. And one thing that Facebook had was the ability to save the streams so people could still watch it later on. So earlier this month, Periscope started testing out the same feature but you would have to use the hashtag #save or else it will already float into the ether.
Now all the videos that you stream live will be saved to your account and no need for hashtags. But if you don’t want the video to be saved, you can adjust it in the save settings so it will be deleted the day after. This new feature is part of the improvements that Periscope is making including better search through title, topic and suggested topics, and the ability to stream from DJI drones.
To be able to enjoy the save feature, update your Periscope to the latest version ore wait for the update to roll out to your account.
