Have you ever wanted to make cute caricatures or something while you’re doing a live video broadcast for your friends or even your colleagues? Well if you’re on the beta testing program of Twitter’s Periscope, then you’ll get the chance to do so. They’re introducing a tool that will give users the ability to doodle and draw on a photo or video that you show on your screen during a live broadcast. It should be something to look forward to, although we’re not sure if it will be released of course.
The tool looks fun though, as seen in some live videos from beta testers. They were able to use three primary colors or even use a dropper to select a color that you want to doodle with. However, the drawings aren’t meant to last forever as they disappear after a few seconds. This probably means that the feature is meant to be used to highlight objects or even people during the live feed. It looks a bit like the permanent sketches that Snapchat users have been using a lot lately.
The beta feature is called Sketches for now and even though Twitter is normally secretive about these testing things, they did make a statement to The Tech Radar that they were indeed testing it out with a small group of people. And they even said that it will be coming soon, specifically in a few weeks, for all users.
This will probably be not the final tool of course, since the point of beta testing is to improve on the proposed features. Let’s see if it will really arrive “in a few weeks” and if it’s something Periscope users will actually jump on.
