Early design sketches of the OPPO F19 were published last month. They revealed the 10x lossless zoom technology that is expected to become revolutionary in the imaging field. The company’s next flagship phone isn’t due until the second half of the year but details are being leaked. Previously, we noted the phone may have full display sans a notch, an on-screen fingerprint sensor, and an under-display selfie camera. And now, we’re getting some confirmation the 10x zoom technology may really be incorporated into the phone.
A special event will be hosted by OPPO tomorrow, January 16. The ‘Oppo Future Technology Communication Conference’ will be the launching pad of the OEM’s newest technologies. We’re looking forward to that 10x lossless pathography as earlier shown off in the leaked patents.
We’re not sure how the 10X zoom will work but it is said to offer “lossless zooming”. OPPO has the authority to introduce such because back in 2017 at the Mobile World Congress, it launched a 5X optical zoom technology that takes advantage of the dual rear camera lens system.
OPPO is believed to be using a periscope module as a telephoto end lens. The latter reduces lens size by refracting light onto the image sensor. OPPO adds an OIS optical anti-shake so image quality is preserved even after the five-fold optical zoom is used.
OPPO has been increasing funding to its Research & Development arm. This year, the budget will go from four billion to ten. More will be added in the future. OPPO is expected to increase investment in the coming years as it plans further expansion.
