Chinese smartphone maker Oppo continues to try and make its mark outside of its native country by launching more new products, and unveiling it elsewhere as well. They have officially announced their newest device, the Mirror 5s, a 4G LTE smartphone whose looks can rival those of its higher end competitors. The specs itself cannot match them probably, but if you’re in the market for a dual-sim, mid-range device, then you might consider this one, if you’ve had it with the other more popular brands.

The crystal-like backing of the Mirror 5s might make you think that it seems easily breakable, but it is supported by a metal frame and so it is sturdier than it looks (at least on paper). The smartphone has a 5-inch 720 x 1280 display and measures 143.4 x 71.2 x 7.65 mm and weighs just 160 grams. It runs on a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor that has a speed of 1.2 GHz.

When it comes to storage and memory, it has a 2GB RAM and a storage of 16GB, but can be expanded through a microSD card of up to 128GB. The camera boasts of an 8MP rear camera with f/22 aperture and LED flash. The front-facing one has 5 megapixels and both cameras have the usual special features like scene detection, panorama mode, geo-tagging, double exposure, HDR options, etc. The dual-sim card has one that’s for micro-SIM and the other a nano-SIM.

There are no price details yet for the Oppo Mirror 5s, but based on the specs and look, expect it to be mid-tier. While it has been launched in Taiwan, there is no word yet if they will be launching it globally as well.
