Smartphones have evolved from just being a device that you can text or call, into something that already functions as a mini computer or even a desktop replacement for some. And along with this, browsers have to constantly evolve as well as they have to be almost like what you use on your computer or laptop. The latest update to Opera Mini sees improvements like this, specifically for the categories in your search, as well as options for downloading.

When you’re searching for something on the web, it would be so much easier if you could easily narrow down what you’re looking for by category. Other browsers like Chrome have done it, and now Opera Mini is doing it. You will now be able to see a new bar on top of the search box and here you can be specific in what you’re looking for, whether it’s the whole web, a video, an image, a shopping site, or just news about the topic you’re looking for. The new search options can be found if you’re using the classic layout of the browser.

More and more smartphones now are becoming download centers for users as well. And Opera Mini is now giving you more control on how you want to make the most out of it, without eating up all of your data bandwidth. In the settings, you can now choose to either Wait for WiFi if you don’t want extra data charges or download directly regardless of connection, if you’re not that concerned with bandwidth. You can also choose to always ask, as it’s sometimes a case to case basis. You can also choose how many files you want to download at the same time and also where you want the files to be stored after finishing the download.
