Opera has been a popular alternative browser for mobile devices, instead of your Chromes and Fireboxes, as it saves you precious data and memory through Opera Mini and the Opera browser itself. Now the latest updates to these browsers bring even more features to help make mobile browsing easier and more tailor fit for your smartphones and mobile phones, like video compression , adding websites as apps and improved tab browsing and all that jazz.
While watching videos on your browser (in case you didn’t want to install another app where you can watch) can be the best “whiling away your time” activity, it does eat up a lot of your data and memory and battery. And if you have a poor Internet connection it will become extremely frustrating because of all the buffering. But Opera for Android says that it can help by introducing the video compression feature which shrinks the online videos but still lets you watch them but in a lower-res but still complete version. You just need to activate the Video compression button in the data savings menu, and Opera will do its job.
On Opera for Android, you can also add websites to your home screen so it will be easier to find them, especially if you visit them regularly. It will function just like apps, but you wouldn’t have to leave your browser anymore. As for Opera Mini, tabbed browsing has also been improved. You don’t need to leave your current tab to add a new browser and switching between the tabs is also much easier.
You can now also track whether your downloads on the Opera mini browser have already finished so you don’t need to constantly look at it and you can do other things while waiting. You can see if the updates for both Opera for Android and Opera mini have already rolled out to your accounts.
