Those familiar with OpenSignal will be happy to know that its Android version has recently received an important update. We haven’t heard from its devs since they reported that T-Mobile has the fastest 4G network in the United States. We’re not sure if this still holds true today after almost six months because there are numerous changes between networks.

An update was rolled out recently, bringing several improvements and fixes. For one, the app has received some more Material Design love. Most of the changes resulted to the app running smoother than ever.

The developers behind OpenSignal also added new features like more levels and search on coverage map. It may have gotten some changes and new features but this one is still the same great tool that allows you to check on the direction of the signal, map and radar view of WiFi routers and cell towers, coverage maps, local cell towers, and speed test for download, latency, and upload.

Simply put, this OpenSignal app lets you see cell towers in an area and identify which network can provide quick and reliable Internet connection all the time with new, more levels, and search on coverage maps.
