For those who own the powerful NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV Console, you’d probably want to know that NVIDIA has pushed another software update for the powerful console. The update includes a number of fixes and additions to the software, including support for new games and additional features. More importantly, the update also includes the March Android security patch.
So this update now bumps up the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV software to version 3.1. There are a good number of changes for the console, but the most exciting one is probably “mouse navigation”. It’s fairly intuitive – the right controller stick can now function to move the pointer around on the screen like a mouse. This makes apps like the Chrome browser easier to use. Of course, mouse functionality doesn’t apply to all apps, but from here on out the NVIDIA SHIELD will support this function natively.
There are some games that have been optimized for the platform, these include Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, Parallax, Sleeping Dogs, and Soma. Of course, the most important part of the update is that your device is receiving the March security update coming from the Android security and research team.
It should be a pretty normal over-the-air download. You can get it as soon as you boot up your NVIDIA SHIELD Console and get online.

No issues for me after the update and the mouse feature is great!
