The NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV console is said to get a new iteration in time for the upcoming CES event. We’re expecting Las Vegas to see the latest Android TV set top box after all the rumors and speculations we’ve heard in the past few weeks. Looks like an official announcement will really happen if we are to believe these images of the products–Android TV box plus TV controller.
They look nothing different from the current model but we know specs and features will be a leap. We don’t have much information either but design-wise, there will only be a slight change. The gamepad looks more ergonomic though with the new shape and the absence of a touchpad.
NVIDIA is also believed to be introducing two variants of the 2017 SHIELD TV. We’re assuming changes on the storage capacities, performance, and ports will be the obvious difference. The images you see below could either be for the two variants or they could be to show the old and new models.
A new NVIDIA gamepad is something we’re expecting since a few months ago when it first dropped by the FCC. It meant the product will be introduced soon in the US complete with Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity and more power-efficiency. These image renders plus some information are all we have right now so let’s wait and see if and when NVIDIA makes an official announcement at the CES 2017.
