Whoever would have thought that an upcoming Nokia phone would be one of the most highly anticipated smartphones in recent history? Well, there are many reasons why the upcoming Nokia 9 PureView is much awaited and it’s being considered as their “first true contender” when it comes to the high-end smartphone line. The wait for the official unveiling is almost over as the latest rumor about the device is that it will be announced during the last week of January in an event that is apart from 2019’s first two electronics trade show.
If the rumor is to be believed, then HMD Global, the official Nokia will probably have their own event since the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas is happening in early January and the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is early March. There are also some other surprises that we should expect aside from the official announcement, according to the “foreign sources” named in a Russian online publication. As to what those surprises are, they probably won’t remain a secret for much longer although we’d have to sift through the rumors and leaks that are bound to happen.
There are already some leaked images of the Nokia 9 PureView out there. Based on the images, the phone is slightly taller but thinner than the Nokia 8, sporting a 5.9-inch display. It also looks like it will have an aluminum frame and a glass unibody design, based on the side and bottom profile in the images, making it a premium looking device. But obviously, what makes this stand out is its Penta-Lens camera setup. Yes, you read that right, five lenses arranged in a circular manner at the back of the phone, which includes a depth sensor. We can’t wait to see what it can actually do.
Other rumored specs of the Nokia 9 PureView is that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset and it will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Aside from the five cameras at the back, it will also have a supposedly impressive 12MP selfie shooter. It will also have a 4150mAh battery so it should have a pretty good life. The 5.9-inch display has a QHD resolution 3D glass OLED display. And best of all, no notch!
Since it will supposedly be announced next month, expect a lot more rumors and leaks for the Nokia 9 PureView soon. Hopefully we get more news about how the Penta-Lens camera setup will work or look like.
