If you’re a sneakerhead who does their shopping mostly online, chances are you’ve been frustrated by unresponsive websites, high online traffic which resulted in unfulfilled transactions, not being able to buy your long-awaited pair when it first comes out in the market, etc. Nike understands this frustration and so now they want to make life easier for online buyers as they finally launch the Android version of their SNKRS app, which has been on another platform since last year.
So basically, the app is meant for you to use as an alternative online shopping place if you’re fed up with the website. It has all the individual shoes and collections that Nike is selling, and here you can browse, buy, and share (well on social media only of course) all your favorite sneakers. Branding itself as your “inside source” for all things Nike (sneakers-wise), you can customize your sneaker feed by following and liking the collections you’re interested in. You can find out more about the inspiration, heritage, and benefits of each pair through additional content that can only be found on the app.
More importantly, you can set the app up to give you notifications when the long-awaited pair you’ve been dreaming about will finally be available. And since you were able to save all your billing, shipping and sizing information on the app previously (that should be the first thing you do upon installing the app!), then you can buy whatever you want as fast as possible. There is even a draw you can enter to purchase key, exclusive releases.
Some have complained that the app is not as awesome as it markets itself to be, with log-in and purchasing problems. So maybe Nike has to fix a few bugs and make improvements on the next version. But if you want to check it out for yourself, you can download it for free from the Google Play Store.
