The experimental Garage Team of Microsoft has been busy working on new apps and updates of existing apps. The Next Lock Screen app for Android was updated only last December but more improvements have been added recently by the Microsoft Garage Team. The Next Lock Screen for Android now has Music Player Controls, more multimedia messaging (MMS) support, enhanced instant messaging support, and improved performance on memory usage aside from the expected bug fixes.
The Music Player Controls work with the main music player on the devices and music streaming apps like Spotify. At least those with Android OS versions 4.3 and above can control music on their mobile devices easily with the Next Lock Screen. This is actually a quick app launch that allows easy access to important information one needs regularly.
The Next Lock Screen app also works as a time saver lock screen ideal for professionals who need to see their text messages, missed calls, and calendar at one glance. Just press on a button, no need to unlock your phone to connect to an important conference call. The app values time so it brings the one-click functionality.
For more convenience, the Next Lock Screen can show the apps you often use based on your current location. The lockscreen app knows what other apps you use whenever you are at home, school, office, or wherever. The Microsoft Garage Team also added support to more popular messaging apps like Google Hangouts, Line, and Skype. Hopefully, you won’t experience any annoying bugs whenever you use the apps.
