We have a lot of news readers in the market already, but it’s either they just give you aggregated items based on your interests or some are just RSS readers that bring you what you’ve missed from your favorite websites. But if you could have both and package it in something that’s pretty nice to look at, wouldn’t you want to give a new app and service a shot? That’s what NewsTab Reader is hoping to get from those looking for a new news reader for their mobile devices (and even desktop!).
There are several ways that you can build your news feed on the app. You can follow the publishers, both local and global, that they have in more than 130 regions and languages worldwide. You can also follow specific topics that interest you, like Technology or Entertainment or Sports, etc. You will also be able to create your own topics with Google News topics or Google Alerts. It can also support RSS feeds and you can integrate your Google News and also your Twitter account so your feed is populated with things that you really care about.
The app is easy to browse and has a visual, image-rich look which makes it easier on the eyes and to actually read and go through everything. You can pin items that you’d want to read later, even if you’re offline. It uses a built-in Full Simplified Article view in case you want to have the article load quickly without frills. You can also integrate it with other “read for later” apps like Pocket, Instapaper, Readability, Evernote, and OneNote.
You can download NewsTab Reader from the Google Play Store for free. You can actually also go through your news feed through a web version.
