A few weeks ago, we told you about the 2016 version of the Samsung Galaxy J5 being spotted at the TENAA website and with some of its specs finally being known. Now, the latest leak from a German website has images of the supposed smartphone, confirming some of the specs as well, including the corners that makes it look like part of the Galaxy A (2016) line, and the metal frame that was also leaked earlier.
The leaked images feature various angles of the Galaxy J5 (2016) and shows off two colors as well, white and gold. Aside from the metal frame and rounded corners, we can also see that there’s a notch at the back cover, which most likely means it will be removable. The back also has a slight brushed metal texture. Of course we’re still not sure if these are actual pictures or just renders, but at least we may have an idea of what it looks like.
As for the specs, some sources have shown that this will have a 5.2” display with 720p resolution. It will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset. It will also reportedly have 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (probably expandable through microSD) and will be running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and not the Marshmallow yet. It will have a 13MP main camera and 1080p video capture plus a 5MP front-facing camera.
Since there is still no official announcement yet from Samsung, we still have no idea when it will be released or how much it will actually cost. But if we base it on the previous version’s price, it should have to be below the $280 line.
