Alcatel is on a roll. After the release of two Alcatel ONETOUCH devices and the Onetouch POP Astro, , here’s a new IDOL: the IDOL 3 4.7 smartphone. This model will be in North America (United States and Canada) and will be unlocked so that means you can use it with any SIM card or under any mobile and data plan from any mobile carrier of your choice.
Alcatel will be making the phone ready for purchase via Amazon on the company’s official websites in both Canada and the US. Just go to Amazon.com, alcatelonetouch.ca, or alcatelonetouch.us to get the IDOL 3 4.7 Android smartphone with the StageFright Google security patch already integrated. Smartphone will be available starting this Friday, August 12, with a $179.99 price tag.
Specs of the new Alcatel ONE TOUCH device include a 4.7-inch HD TFT IPS display screen, 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB, 13 megapixel main camera with autofocus, 5 megapixel front-facing cam, and a 2000mAh non-removable battery.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MSM8916 with Adreno 306 400 MHz chipset and boasts of dual speaker front-facing speakers with JBL audio technology. This unit already runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box so you don’t have to worry about upgrading this entry-level phone.
