Those who use Netflix on other platforms probably already know the drill about the video previews since they were introduced a couple of months ago. But now those who are using the Android app are finally seeing this in action as the video streaming giant started rolling it out to selected users. The good news is that unlike the ones on set-top boxes, the mobile version doesn’t start to play automatically, lest you were afraid of being startled by the video preview.
Since this is for mobile apps, the video preview is in vertical arrangement so it will fill up your screen. And since it won’t play automatically, you will have to tap on the items in the Preview section to watch the 30-second clip. You can also swipe through to the next preview if you’re done looking at the current one and the 30 seconds isn’t up yet. You can also use the trailer as the starting point towards watching the TV show or the movie.
Not all Android users of the Netflix app will be able to see the previews just yet as they are still probably testing it out. The Previews will be noticeable since they have their own dedicated section under the main banner ad promoting the newest shower episode. The shows or movies that are in the preview section have a circular thumbnail.
There isn’t anything you can do to have the mobile preview, except to just wait for it to arrive for you. If you already have it, are you enjoying binge-watching through the trailers or are you just annoyed by it?
