If you’re the type of person who’s always forgetting things or if you feel like you have to keep track of your important belongings, then Motorola’s newest wearable, the Connect Coin, may just be the one for you. The wearable with its Bluetooth connectivity and GPS tracker is set to be released in Asia soon and probably everywhere else later on. This is part of Binatone Global’s portfolio after buying the Motorola Mobility brand, which includes the brand name, the team, and the product roadmap as well.
The wearable device is a sort of sequel to their 2014 product, the KeyLink, but this time it comes in the form of a connected “coin”. The Connect Coin can help you locate things like your car, your keys, and yes, even your smartphone. Just attach it to whatever you want to be tracked and then pair it with your smartphone and the Connect Coin app. Just make sure you don’t lost that smartphone though.
You can also use the Connect Coin to remotely control some of your smartphone’s functions. You can use it to take selfies by pressing the camera trigger function of your Coin. You can also use it to control your music from your smartphone remotely. Pressing the configure button will let you change or skip tracks. More importantly, the wearable can serve as an SOS button. If you press the button, it will notify other people of your current location and that you need help.
There are no price points yet for the Connect Coin, but it will probably not be that expensive, as they are encouraging people to buy more than one for various purposes. It’s also available in many colors, so that should make you want to get your favorite colors. More announcements soon, so just watch this space.
