Motorola appears to be getting ready to start another update rollout for the original WiFi Motorola XOOM tablet. As usual they are calling this a “project” and are currently looking for a few testers. A few tips and our source mention this could in fact be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich although it’s too early to tell, but they give a few hints.
Like many updates in the past emails are going out to members of the Motorola Feedback Network that are a part of their forum and have signed up with specific devices. Motorola is asking for owners of the “Google Experience” WiFi XOOM for participation — as in not the 3G/4G enabled Verizon model.
What confuses me is Google experience devices get updates directly from Google usually, and we’d expect ICS for the XOOM to be rolled out by Google themselves — not Motorola. Although we could be seeing an incremental update here that will be lining the XOOM up and preparing it for the future 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, but at this time we aren’t sure.
Google and Motorola could be working together and getting ready to start the rollout for ICS on the XOOM, but for now we’ll just have to wait and see what happens when this update starts hitting project test devices. We’ll be sure to share more details once available.

I waited for ICS on last december 🙁 so slow this update
Uhhhhhhhh………ICS just came out. How can you say this is slow to update when the first 4.0 device came out less than three weeks ago?
Where is the source? Where is this news coming from?
emails going out to Motorola Feedback Network members. source is the via at bottom of article
Or maybe this update could just be for bug fixes like ti was for that other Motorola phone?
