With the launch of the Motorola Droid X, and the impending addition of the Droid 2, Motorola seemed to be pretty excited about their new skin of MOTOBLUR. It’s not as “in-your-face” as the first variation, and that’s a good thing in a lot of different ways. But, that’s not stopping Motorola from putting the obtrusive customized skin on future phones, ones that perhaps don’t fit with the whole “DROID” lineage. For example, here’s the first spy shots (supposedly) of the Motorola Sage. And yes, that’s very much MOTOBLUR.
The Sage is a smartphone, running Android 2.1 and featuring the old-school BLUR User Interface. It also featurs a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display, and what appears to be a very strange trackpad right there at the center-bottom of the device. It also has a full physical QWERTY keyboard that will slide out into the world. You also get the standard WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. There’s even a digital compass on board.
The report says that the device is heading to AT&T, and we can believe that. Either them or T-Mobile, and considering the Magenta carrier is focusing on some high-end devices at the moment, we would be surprised to see this one sneak in. Plus, this “mid-range” smartphone would be a standard addition for AT&T. In any event, here’s the first shots of it — was it worth the wait?
