A couple of weeks ago, Motorola released an update for the Moto 360. It’s not the Android Wear 2.0 yet but the versions brought drastic improvement on battery life. This was the same update that made improvements to the smartwatch’s performance. A couple of weeks later, Motorola is releasing another update that is expected to bring better features.
According to Motorola, the new update will bring another Smart Battery Saving feature. When battery of the Moto 360 reaches 15%, the smartwatch will automatically turn off ambient mode. Timely Time Checks will also come which means the smartwatch will regularly synchronize time with your smartphone to make sure it is updated up to minute.
The user interface has also been tweaked to include a more classic design. Notifications are still there but won’t get in the way of the watch. Motorola also added a new gesture to show important notifications: simply swipe down the top of notification to display.
Since the Moto 360 is a smartwatch, Motorola made it even smarter by giving it the ability to adjust to the lighting of the room while charging. The watch display shouldn’t be too dark or too bright. And similar to the LG G Watch update, the Moto 360 can soon be paired with a Bluetooth headset, thanks to some enhancements on Bluetooth connectivity. And of course, some bugs have been fixed to improve total user experience.
Motorola said the updated Android Wear software will roll out in phases. Just wait for the update notification on your smartwatch. Battery should be at least 80 percent and must be connected to a smartphone with Internet connection to ensure continuous installation.
