India has been slowly, yet consistently, been getting a trickle of Android-based smartphones into their market over the last several months. And, even if people might expect that these handsets would be lesser than the ones found in other markets, it looks like the region isn’t slacking all that much. Sure, it may not be as powerful as a handset as, say, the Droid X, but the Motorola Quench XT3 is still a good phone. And, if you’re in India, you can now pick one up for yourself.
The Motorola Quench XT3 features a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen, integrated GPS and WiFi, and the ability to connect to 3G. There’s a headset jack, a 3.2MP camera on the back, and a 600MHz processor under the hood. You’ll also be able to expand your memory thanks to the MicroSD card slot. The handset features 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, as well as Bluetooth connectivity. But, what makes the whole thing worth it, is the fact that Motorola bumped the Operating System from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1.
The Quench XT3 is priced at a semi-reasonable 12,990 INR, or about $300.
