According to a recent survey by Good Technology Android OS has not had the best luck breaking through the enterprise market because of its lack of VPN support. But Android is still doing better than Microsoft, and thanks to Motorola teaming up with AuthenTec, a biometric sensor provider, the new Droid Pro comes with a pre-installed VPN app that’s designed to be easy to configure.
This is not only the first VPN application in the market to support Cisco IPsec, it also covers the full range of VPN solutions (Tunnel mode IPSec, two way certication, IKEv1, IKEv2, and Split Tunneling). These solutions cover VPNs from basic native OS support to high end enterprise devices. With the solid foundation of VPN support, Droid Pro may be able to turn Motorola’s hopes of finding its way in the enterprise market a reality. And we sure hope so too.
