If you’ve been eagerly awaiting for the release of the Android 7.0 Nougat on your Motorola device, then the wait is almost over. Well, at least you’ll have an estimate of when to expect the update and if your device is actually part of the roadmap. The official statement from the company is that the update will start rolling out in Q4 of 2016, although that means it will be anytime from now until December, so that’s not a very specific time frame.
What can you expect from the Nougat update? Well, if you speak emoji and would like to have more to add to your vocabulary, then your wish will come true. It comes with 1500 emojis all in all, and with 72 new ones. If you’re a multi-tasker, then you’ll also love the update as multi-window view will now be part of your device and switching between windows will also be easier. Gamers will also be happier as the Vulkan API that comes with Nougat is supposedly a game changer.
It will also come with a Virtual Reality mode so if you have Motorola’s VR headset Daydream, you’ll be able to enjoy all the supported apps. Nougat also comes with improved Doze settings that will help you save up on your battery even when you’re on the move. There are also more customization options, custom quick settings, notificaton direct reply, bundled notifications, and other things.
