The mobile gaming market is a very lucrative one, and as such, companies are always on the lookout for the next big innovation for mobile gamers. For Mobcrush, it’s putting its bets on mobile game streaming, or streaming your games from the cloud. This is already possible via the PC platform, and Amazon’s Twitch division is making a killing with 100 million monthly active users of their service.
Mobcrush hopes to recreate that success in mobile, as technology moves ever forward – cloud storage and cloud apps are now easily accessible, data connections are getting faster and faster, and virtually anyone can connect to the internet. Mobcrush is hoping to host some games via the cloud and ask users to stream their gameplay.
If you are on an Android device running Android Lollipop, Mobcrush says their service can allow you to stream virtually any game to your device. Supported devices for this service include the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, the LG Nexus 5, LG Nexus 6, and the LG Nexus 9. This is a relatively small list for now, but the list should grow as the game streaming service matures.
Mobcrush has been raising funds to launch this service, and a number of big names in venture capital have joined then in their push to launch the game streaming service. Hopefully they market the heck out of this so people can see that there is another option now available for mobile gaming.
