Microsoft, fresh off the success of their Windows 10 launch, isn’t sitting on their laurels when it comes to their products in other platforms. They’ve announced a whole slew of productivity product updates, this time specifically for wearable and smartwatches, including some for smartwatches running on the Android Wear platform. This includes OneNote, OneDrive, and Microsoft Translator, all of which now have apps and features created especially for that gadget on your wrist.
First off, we have a new Microsoft Translator for Android Wear, which now has 50 languages available for your translation needs. All you have to do is to speak into your smartwatch and it will be able to translate it into whatever you choose from the 50. You can also pin your most used translations and settings so you can access them quickly. You can also use the companion app for your smartphone for if you prefer to type the word or phrase you want to translate. This app is handy for when you’re traveling somewhere that uses a different language.
OneDrive for Android Wear meanwhile brings a few improvements to the app. You now have the option of using it as your watch face, and every time you will activate your device, you’ll see a different watch face based on pictures on your OneDrive. So maybe you’d want to move embarrassing pictures out of your OneDrive before you start using tis feature. You’ll also be able to receive notifications that someone has made edits on any of your documents on OneDrive.
Lastly, OneNote for Android Wear has been redesigned, allowing you to do more on your smartwatch. You can now dictate notes onto the app just by saying “OK Google, take a note.” You’ll also be able to see your recently viewed notes, so no need to scramble for your smartphone when you need it at that very moment.
