The Microsoft Outlook Preview app for Android has surprised a lot of people by being actually pretty great and holding its own against well-established email apps like Gmail, Inbox, Mail, etc. A new update to the app brings even more improvements not just to the mail experience but even to the calendar and people (contacts) that are integrated with it.
The first set of improvements pertains to the People feature of the app, or as some would refer to it, the Contacts. Your address book in both your Microsoft Outlook account and your smartphone’s native phone book will now be synced to the app, so that it would be easier to send them an email without having to check it from another app. The details for your contacts have also been improved and can be your one-look place for all the information about the person you’re looking up. And if you need to email or even call said contact, all you need is to tap your contact once and it will be done.
In terms of the calendar, the update has improved the performance of one of the most important parts of any smartphone or tablet. It will noticeably be faster and will not hang as much anymore. Also, if you turn your smartphone sideways to landscape mode, you’ll be able to see the 3-day view, in case you want to review what your schedule will be lack in the next, errr, 3 days.
Of course this update comes with the necessary performance and stability improvements. The changes should have rolled out anytime now to the users. If you still haven’t tried it yet, you can download Microsoft Outlook Preview for free from the Google Play Store.
