If you’re in the beta program of the Microsoft Office apps, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, then that’s probably because you want to experience features ahead of everyone else. In the latest update to the program, version 16.0.6925.1002, beta users get the chance to try out the Tell Me feature, which tells your app what you want to do using natural language, and the ability to reply with a file itself when answering an email and sending your edited document, sheet, or presentation.
Microsoft is introducing a new feature for all three of the apps called Tell Me, which basically give you the ability to tell your app what you want to do, by typing it out using your own words, and then the Tell Me feature will guide you to achieve what it is you want to do, and even give you additional resources in case you need more help. Another new feature applicable to all three apps is the ability to reply to an email using the edited file you’re working on. Just open Outlook from whichever app/file you’re using and reply.
There are also individual updates to the apps available. For the Word app, you now have the ability to merge cells so you can make a heading across columns and also split cells to be able to show the right level of details. For Excel, you can now copy and paste an entire worksheet so you don’t need to start from scratch if you’ll be working on a similar format anyway. There are no additional features for Powerpoint.
