Skype is still one of the widely used and reliable instant messaging apps today. Microsoft regularly updates the program, adding more features that make messaging and video chatting not only convenient but also fun. Even Skype for Business is being improved to ensure that managers and employees communicate well and be more productive than ever.
Millions of people all over the world are connected by Skype each day. The Skype team has been working on something that is said to change the way we communicate online.
Microsoft is introducing Skype Bots. A Skype Bot is a chatbot that helps you finish all your tasks and even turn those plans and ideas into real action (someday, even your dreams into reality). Skype Bot will be your friend if there’s no one to chat with. It’s not designed for the lonely but for those who need information, services, and expertise right there on Skype.
Skype Bots have been added to the latest versions of Skype on Android, Windows, and iOS so everyone can enjoy the new messaging experience. In the near future, the bots will also be ready for video and audio calling.
Only a few countries can check out what they Skype Bots can do. Avid Skype users in the United States, New Zealand, India, Singapore, England, Australia, and Canada are encouraged to download the updated Skype and send feedback to the developers.
For other genius developers out there, you can also try to make your own Bots with the Skype Bots Platform. The program includes API, SDK, and Workflows you can use for coding. Feel free to create bots that can do more for you. Microsoft is even holding a hackathon for this new platform this coming May. (Sign up here HERE)
So what are Skype Bots really? They’re simply robots that can work as virtual assistants. A Bot works with Cortana to help you do whatever you need to do. Need to manage your calendar? Unleash a Skype Bot and it will check your calendar and connect to other related Bots that you may need.
