When it comes to keeping notes and organizing them, Evernote is probably the most popular one out there. But Microsoft’ OneNote has been giving it a run for its money and for those who would like to switch for one reason or another, they are giving you now an easier way to do so. The OneNote Importer Tool not only allows you to have all of your notes and folders present in the OneNote app, but it also means you can access all of these notes on any gadget that you may have (that has OneNote of course).
Just like Evernote, OneNote also has apps across all platforms but it also has the distinct advantage of being able to work seamlessly with other Microsoft products like Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint. And if you didn’t know it yet, the tech company has actually been producing really quality mobile apps, which has come as a surprise for a lot of people, given their experience with Windows and Microsoft Office the past few years.
The OneNote Importer Tool will only work with Windows for now (Mac to come soon) and on paper, or rather on video, it seems to be an easy and painless process. It is recommended that you have Evernote for Windows installed first before migrating. Sign in to your Evernote and to your OneNote as well, then just follow the step by step process. If successful, then all your notes from the former will have been exported to the latter.
Personally, I’d still stick to Evernote as I’ve already established a system and a rhythm in working with it and for now, I’m satisfied with how it is. But if you’re looking for a more symbiotic experience with everything Microsoft, then OneNote isn’t a bad choice at all.
