We’re no longer weirded out by the fact that Microsoft is getting busy making and improving Android apps especially now that Google and Microsoft has finally ended their patent battle. Microsoft has recently updated some of its popular Garage apps including the Picturesque Lock Screen that has gained a number of positive reviews.
Microsoft revealed that a new version is already out with a number updates. App now features universal search so users can easily find apps, bookmarks, contacts, and browsing history right from the lock screen. No need to unlock the phone and go to a specific app. Picturesque has benefited Android users by providing information they need without having to unlock their devices.
The update also brings added security like PIN, pattern, and password. There’s also new controls for music playback (play, pause, and toggle) plus support for more notifications. The app is now more battery-efficient as shortcuts were cut down to one swipe, drains less battery and memory, and data consumption has been optimized.
The Picturesque Lock Screen also provides background photos for your device. Bing Rewards is integrated as well so you can continue gaining points whenever you search. Other updates include a redesigned responsive UX and the ability to tap on search bar to get top contacts. The updated app delivers significant performance improvements, proactive suggestions on lockscreen, and quick shortcuts.
