Micromax unveiled over a dozen new products at the ‘Guts to Change’ Gurgaon event. The company has announced new tablets, TVs, and smartphones. About 15 new phones were shown off in India but most notable were the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro. The Indian electronics company is committed to bringing the latest hardware and software and improving services for all customers. A new logo was also unveiled to show that it’s gutsy enough to make changes.
The Canvas 6 is a full-metal smartphone with fingerprint scanner–the first from Micromax. Specs include a 5.5-inch Full-HD screen, 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, 3GB RAM, 32GB on board storage, 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio MT6795m processor, 4G/LTE connectivity, 13MP rear camera, 8MP selfie shooter, and a 3000mAh battery.
The Canvas 6 Pro also comes with almost the same specs except for the 5MP front-facing cam, 4GB RAM, and a smaller 16GB storage. We’re confused why the Pro only has 16GB of storage and a lower 5MP selfie cam but we’re guessing Micromax wants to keep the price down and true enough, both phones are priced at Rs 13,999 which is about $210.
The two smartphones are priced below $250. The features may be closely similar but the designs are very different. The Micromax Canvas 6 is sleek in a gold finish while the Canvas 6 Pro has more rounded edges like the iPhone 6 and HTC 10. They both run Android 5.1 Lollipop and features Gaana as the default music player. The Canvas 6 Pro is now up for pre-order online from Micromax.
These are just two of the numerous smartphone Micromax unveiled. The other phones launched were the following: Canvas Unite 4, Canvas Spark 2+, Canvas Evok, Canvas Mega 2, Micromax Bolt Supreme, Bolt Supreme 2, and Bolt Q381
