While smartwatches are of course highly functional, those who are concerned with fashion and style don’t always appreciate the design of most of the wearables out there. But the past year or so has seen traditional watchmakers join the fray by producing their own line of connected watches. Michael Kors is one of those brands and now they have announced a new fashion-focused line of wearables called Access. Their first product is simply called Michael Kors Access smartwatch.
With this line, made up of smartwatches and activity trackers, they claim that you get the best of both worlds: “innovative technology with exceptional style”. It has a lot of customizable features for users who like to make their gadgets their own. You’ll have exclusive Michael Kors watchfaces which you can change with just a swipe, hundreds of possible combinations of display face, color, and sub-dials. You will also get interchangeable leather and silicone wristbands so you can choose which one matches your outfit or look for that day.
The touchscreen display of the Michael Kors Access smartwatch is powered by the Android Wear platform, showing you social media updates, app notifications, and even fitness tracking. It will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC so your touch screen will be highly interactive. The Michael Kors Access line will be launched in 18 countries, and part of this global campaign is a video following models Zendaya and Martha Hunt as they go through their daily life in New York City, of course wearing their smartwatches.
The smartwatches will cost $350 and the activity trackers start at $95. They’re already available at Michael Kors stores and in selected department and specialty stores.
