The MapMyFitness version 3.0 update has recently landed in the Google Play Store. This update has the app sitting at v3.0.3 with a new look and new features. In fact, the team behind the app is touting this as one that brings a “complete app redesign with a new workout recording experience.”

One of the first differences you’ll likely notice deals with navigation. There is now a slide out menu coming from the left side of the app. This is where you can quickly access everything from recording a workout, to logging workout or food details. This menu is also where you’ll find routes, your activity feed, live tracking and more.

The left hand navigation also contains your friends section. Users will be able to find friends using Facebook or Twitter as well as their contact list. And once you have been confirmed as a friend with someone — you will be able to compare stats and even have some friendly competition in terms of your workouts.

Other highlights this time around include new maps which offer 3D buildings and compass orientation, new workout details with elevation, speed/pace graphs, cadence, power and heart rate, and the option to check your per mile split in speed or pace. But perhaps the biggest addition with the v3.0 update was the coaching. This one is available for MVP members and offers audio feedback for items such as time, pace, speed, distance and duration.

The May My Fitness Workout Trainer app is free and can be found using this Google Play Store link.
