Not all people looking for new smartphones will want to buy high-end, high-spec devices. Whether it is for younger children or as a second smartphone, sometimes what you’re looking for are decent, wallet-friendly devices. India is considered to be one of the emerging markets, not just for smartphones but for other products as well, and LG is looking at targeting consumers in the South Asian country as they announced that their low-end and low-budget LG Max will be coming there soon.
A few days ago, LG announced the LG Bello II, which will launch in markets like Mexico, Russia, and other Commonwealth countries later this month. But it looks like this is the same device that is now being called the LG Max and will be sold first in India. Aside from the name, they have the same specs: a 5-inch 854×480 display, running on a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, having 1GB RAM and an 8GB internal storage with microSD support.
When it comes to the camera, it has a decent 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing one. It also has Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash features for those who love to take selfies of course. It has a 2,540mAH removable battery, comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, and has single and dual SIM variants. However, connectivity is only 3G because LG assumed that India’s LTE connectivity isn’t that prevalent yet.
The LG Max will come in white, titan, and gold colors and will retail at around $172. However, there are no details yet as to when this will hit the stores in India yet, just like the LG Bello II for the other markets.
